Dr H D Sahni did his medical graduation from King George Medical College, Lucknow followed by MD in Pediatrics from the same institution. He worked as a senior registrar at KGMC and Rajeev Gandhi Cancer institute before he became a faculty at PT B D Sharma PGI Rohtak .He later joined SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences Bareilly as a Assistant Professor and provided services till 2004. He qualified admission to PDCC course in the Department of Gastroenterology in 2005, where he underwent training in Pediatric Gastroenterology with good exposure to adult gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary diseases and their management and advanced endoscopic procedures and therapeutics.

He set up an advanced Gastro and endoscopic clinic in Bareilly at his home and has been in practice for more than 10 years providing state of the art endoscopic services including UGI endoscopy , colonoscopy and side viewing endoscopy. He was a pioneer in starting ERCP services in the region. He has done the maximum number of ERCP procedures in the city with least complication rates. He was also instrumental in starting Pediatric Gastroenterology, hepatology and Paediatric Endoscopic services in the western UP. His area of work included awareness among colleagues and general population regarding celiac disease, neonatal cholestasis incuding biliary atresia and galactosemia. He started the process of endoscopic biopsies for diagnosis of celiac disease and cow’s milk protein allergy.

Today Dr Sahni Gastroendoscopy Clinic ( also known as Bareilly PGI) , is a landmark institution in providing state of the art endoscopic services and providing the best treatment for all Gastrointestinal and liver disorders apart from being the only institution providing all services related to disorders of liver and gut in children and paediatric endoscopy services.
